Board of Directors
The 2023/24 Board of Directors is comprised of eleven members. All are parents who foster the development of their children and the Francophonie, bringing new ideas, innovating and analyzing FPFA’s current situation, while ensuring the proper functioning of the organization.

GENEVIÈVE SAVARD
Board Chair
Region: North West
I am involved in FPFA because the French language is important to me. I am proud to be French in an English-speaking community and my children can live in a bilingual multicultural environment.

PIERRE FLOC’H-ANDERSON
Treasurer
Region : South
I am involved with the FPFA because I want to :
- share my 15+ years of experience as a francophone parent in Alberta: relationships with school principals and school boards, fundraising for societies, relationships with parents (established and newcomers)
- continue to increase the participation of Francophones in the southern part of the province (from Bellevue to Airdrie, Canmore to Medicine Hat)
- assist Alberta parents through FPFA resources to achieve their goal of educating their children in French

CELINE BEGIN
Vice-Chair
Region: Greater North Centre
I am involved with the FPFA because I want to support the French-speaking community and help ensure that there are important French language resources for parents and children in Alberta.

PILAR BUITRAGO
Secretary
I am involved with the FPFA because because I believe that through an organization like the FPFA, I can contribute more broadly to the Francophone community in southern Alberta. I would like to contribute as part of a team to the search for resources and to the representation of FPFA services in a minority setting.

CHRISTINE AUBIN
Director
Region: North West
I am involved with the FPFA because I want to share my 15 years of experience within the school council and the society of friends, and above all because the French-speaking world is close to my heart, and I want to continue to support our French-speaking families.

GENEVIÈVE GÉLINAS
Director
Region: Center East
I am involved with the FPFA because the Francophonie is close to my heart and it’s important for me to have access to programs and services in French. I think we must unite in order to maintain our roots and continue to flourish in our beautiful French language. FPFA is an organization promoting this objective, namely the preservation of our Francophonie.

Kirsten Wallace
Director
Region: Alberta
I get involved in the FPFA because I am passionate about the well-being of children and families. With more than 17 years of experience in various roles directly related to early childhood and Francophone families, I have many perspectives through which I can see the various challenges we face in Alberta! I look forward to being part of an organization that can have a positive impact on the lives of our children and Francophone families across the province.

MÉLANIE MEYER
Director
Region: Alberta
I am involved with the FPFA because I am grateful for the opportunity Francophones have to pursue an education in French, and I hope that this choice will continue to evolve across all areas of communication. By being part of the FPFA council, I aim to contribute to the advancement of our beautiful language.

ELIANE GAËLLE NDOUTOU MBANTA
Director
Region: Greater North Centre
I am involved with the FPFA to help safeguard and improve the key elements necessary for promoting, facilitating, and supporting education and socialization in our beautiful language, French. It is also an opportunity to contribute to the integration of newly arrived French-speaking families into the Francophone education system in Alberta.
