The Board of Directors is comprised of twelve members. All are parents who foster the development of their children and the Francophonie, bringing new ideas, innovating and analyzing FPFA’s current situation, while ensuring the proper functioning of the organization.

I am involved in FPFA because the French language is important to me. I am proud to be French in an English-speaking community and my children can live in a bilingual multicultural environment.

I am involved with the FPFA because I want to support the French-speaking community and help ensure that there are important French language resources for parents and children in Alberta.
Kate Charbonneau

I get involved with the FPFA because I truly believe in the importance of a parent’s role in their child’s Francophone education. It is essential for Francophone parents to be represented so their voices are heard, and to be equipped to support their child in their education.
Sandra Hassan Farah

I am involved with the FPFA because I recognize the central role this organization plays for Francophone families across Alberta. I want to leverage my expertise in early childhood, youth, and family support, and help guide FPFA projects to ensure their success.

I get involved with the FPFA because Francophone culture is very close to my heart, and accessing French-language programs and services is important to me. I believe we must come together to preserve our roots and continue to thrive in our beautiful French language. I see the FPFA as an organization that drives us toward this goal of keeping our Francophone heritage alive.

I get involved with the FPFA because I deeply believe that parents play an essential role in the vitality of French in minority settings. I want to help strengthen a robust, inclusive, and supportive Francophone network where every parent feels recognized, welcomed, and guided in their desire to offer their children a vibrant, full life in French.

I get involved with the FPFA because I am passionate about the well-being of children and families. With over 17 years of experience in various roles directly related to early childhood and Francophone families, I bring diverse perspectives to viewing the challenges we face in Alberta. I look forward to being part of an organization that makes a positive impact on the lives of our Francophone children and families across the province.

Share my 15+ years of experience as a Francophone parent in Alberta, including working with school administration and school boards, fundraising for societies, and connecting with both long-standing and newcomer parents.

Continue increasing participation among Francophones in the southern part of the province (from Bellevue to Airdrie, and Canmore to Medicine Hat).

Help Alberta parents leverage FPFA resources to achieve their goal of raising and educating their child(ren) in French.
